Highway to the Flyway: The Road to Restoration on San Pablo Bay
Though they get a lot less attention that their South Bay counterparts, the ongoing restoration efforts in the North Bay, particularly along the Highway 37 corridor near San Pablo Bay, are guided by the same bold vision of bringing back large swaths of the wildlife-rich wetlands that once characterized much of the San Francisco Bay shoreline. This 16-page special supplement, written by noted author John Hart, was originally published in our July-September 2007 issue. In addition to a full centerspread map of the area, it includes sections about restoration work in the Napa-Sonoma Marshes and Sears Point, along with tips for seeing the marshes and getting involved with these landmark restoration efforts.
